چکیده

Information on physiological processes that affect insulin action and glycaemia is of paramount importance in the treatment type 1 diabetes mellitus because optimal blood glucose control can prevent or decelerate microvascular complications. In insulin-deficient premenopausal women, sensitivity to exogenous seems be lower during ovulation luteal phase compared follicular phase. This difference directly affects management. The risk for hyperglycaemia oftentimes higher second half catamenial cycle, while hypoglycaemic events may occur more often Ovarian steroids (oestradiol progesterone) are probable modulating factors action. Rising oestradiol midcycle high progesterone secretory menstrual cycle contribute resistance. underlying mechanisms largely unknown. It possible enhances gluconeogenesis liver binds its receptor, thereby increasing resistance insulin. These actions remain clarified. Additional related also facilitate variability sensitivity. presence glycaemic changes not consistent among women with diabetes. throughout should considered when adjusting dosage susceptible subjects.
